The process

Take It One Step at a Time

Qualification Process

To begin the process of becoming a Jiffy Lube® franchisee, you’ll first conduct a call with a Qualification Specialist to ensure you meet the basic requirements, including a credit and background check. You’ll also be required to complete a new franchisee application and provide supporting financial documents.

Interview

Next, you’ll complete an introductory interview with the Jiffy Lube Recruitment Manager who begins to assess leadership traits and growth interest. You’ll have the opportunity to ask questions including what it’s like to be a Jiffy Lube® franchisee.

Discovery Day

At Discovery Day, you’ll meet the Jiffy Lube International, Inc. team and hear from experts across the organization. The in-person meeting, held at our Houston headquarters, provides a high-level overview of the proven Jiffy Lube® business model. Here, you’ll learn more about the Jiffy Lube® values and the attributes of successful franchisees.

Selection

Following Discovery Day, we'll connect you with a Business Development Manager to discuss desired markets, site selection process and arrange for an operations interview. After selecting a mutually agreeable site location, you will complete the New Entity setup process and sign a Franchise Agreement, subject to final approval by Jiffy Lube International, Inc.

Grand Opening

Congratulations! Your onboarding process will culminate with the grand opening of your new service center where you’ll be able to introduce yourself and your services to your community as a proud Jiffy Lube® franchisee.

With Jiffy Lube®, you are affiliated with a nationally recognized automotive maintenance brand coupled with a leading motor oil brand, Pennzoil. These two brands bring national advertising and growth funding as well as strategies to help drive profitable growth.
The Jiffy Lube® franchise agreement lasts 20 years, with a 10-year renewal option.
The initial start up costs associated with opening a new Jiffy Lube Multicare® Service center range from $207,000 to $422,650, excluding land. The break down of these estimated costs can be found in Item 7 of the Jiffy Lube® Franchise Disclosure Document.
We offer financial assistance programs that provide upfront funding to help offset costs. For example, if you are constructing a new Jiffy Lube® location, you could be eligible to receive funding of approximately $77,350 to offset initial start-up costs. The dollar amount may vary, as it is based on market-specific data.
All Jiffy Lube® franchisees gain access to an award-winning training program, Jiffy Lube®-specific systems and tools, and dedicated operations and marketing support.
Existing Jiffy Lube® stores are protected by a 3-mile non-compete ring. As long as your desired location is outside of that 3-mile radius, the area is open for new development discussion.
Since the network is 100% franchise owned and operated, Jiffy Lube International, Inc. is not involved in site sales.
In addition to the U.S., Jiffy Lube® also has service centers in Canada. We are always open to discussions regarding expansion.
A minimum of four employees are required during operating hours. Additionally, the service center is required to have an ASE A5 or Jiffy Lube University® A5 certified technician on staff.
Yes. Service center employees are required to complete training through Jiffy Lube University®, our proprietary training and development program. The program consists of computer-based modules, virtually-led sessions and hands-on learning.
All new development must offer Jiffy Lube Multicare® services. The only exception would be an existing service center conversion that does not meet the requirements to be a Jiffy Lube Multicare® service center and has a strong enough business case.
